This event will feature a behind-the-scenes tour of the Buford Highway Farmers Market, followed by a private dinner prepared by Chef Nancy Waldeck. Please do not miss this event. The BHFM was featured on The Layover with Anthony Bourdain.

Chef Nancy's Notes / Tips

  • Want to get a little more adventurous with your cooking? Need a change of menu? Or just want to find luscious, delicious ingredients that are inexpensive and accessible? Join our Culinary Director and Healthy Chef Partyologist Nancy Waldeck for a tour of the Buford Highway Farmer’s Market and an introduction to the cool and creative classes that are held there.
  • We’ll meet in the produce section at 7, (WOWZA! Check out the affordable and diverse organics as you walk in the door.), and do about an hour tour of the market - so that you can come back and confidently shop in this amazing “market of the world” on your own. After we check out the aisles, (Fabulous fish market, dumplings and sushi to go!), we’ll head back to the teaching kitchen and enjoy some of the more unusual fruits and veggies we’ve seen on our walk, and also have a quick demo and tastes of some of my favorites.
  • Make sure to wear your walking shoes, and bring a sweater – it can get really chilly with all that fresh food. You’ll tour and then taste and sample from 7 – 9ish. The market stays open to 10, so you’ll have time to return to your favorite spot and shop before you leave.
